So we threw out the playbook. Every piece we make assembles in under two minutes with zero tools, uses real Baltic-birch plywood instead of particleboard, and ships unfinished — so the final look is entirely yours. Over 17,000 homes later, we still cut and pack every order ourselves from our small workshop in San Diego.

We use furniture-grade Baltic birch — the same material that goes into speaker cabinets, skate ramps, and museum exhibits. Cross-laminated veneers at alternating 90-degree angles. It doesn't warp. It doesn't sag. It holds joints better than anything else on the market.
You can sand it, stain it, paint it, or leave it raw. However you finish it, the bones are solid.

Who founded UNFNSHED?
UNFNSHED was founded by Abdel Ibrahim, who started the company to prove that well-made furniture doesn't need tools, particleboard, or a pre-picked color. The team is small and operates out of a single San Diego workshop.

Free shipping on orders over $100 within the continental US, and a 14-day return window if a piece isn't right for your space. Because everything ships flat-pack, returns are painless.
